In Lebron's quest for global domination he has reverted to myopic tactics of image lacking substance; he is making himself into an idea, or as Baudrillard might claim, a simulacrum without reality. Sure he is a superlative athlete and the best player in the game [it's true my fellow bruised fanatics, and he has been for the past few years- the plenary proficiency of our dearest Kobre (seriously why is he the black mamba when a simple "R" makes him a cobra?) is not coextensive to superiority of said skill sets] but if he is trying to pass himself off as faultless [this confiscating of him being dunked on by a 'scrub'] we will only too soon see the platitude of the fallen hero, which of course will lead apodictically to the stories of redemption, et cetera [for those who need examples let us provide the contemporaneous alembic of winning a championship by the aforementioned Kobre]. To transmogrify the man into an idea/image- videlicet, a logo in the vein of Mister West or Master Jordan- he is effacing his reality.
Recently Lebron found it necessary to have his minions disseminate the fact he had never averred to one Trevor Ariza that he would stay in Cleveland beyond this year, the final of his current contract. Needless to say this was an ignorant move which rules out any prospect of a political career for the King, unless it be tyranny. What leverage did his majesty possibly gain from this proclamation? Merely he has evinced the instability of the organization, incapable of signing free agents due to the incertitude of the status of both roster and coach beyond this season. Touche Lebron, you managed to become front page news. This 'story' splayed across sporting sites and network news. But what did you gain? Will you make more next year from relating the facts that you are a free agent to be? Will you gain more notoriety from this equivocal assurance? More than you would gain from staying quiet in the possibility of luring some decent player to your team, the piece who just might gurantee a title shot?
This is what a lack of an education and hiring a friend for you agent does. It is one thing to be heartless and shrewd- you might as well decieve to position your grab for power into legendary status, cutthroat on and off the court, with the mentality of a business icon. However you have come across as substanceless, with little tact and less aware of your person and ultimately your image.
